New business cards

I just ordered new business cards and I think they turned out OK. This time I incorporated some of my first books cover art.

Keira Lane is a rockstar…

I just want to take a moment and acknowledge an author who is doing something cool for other writers.

Keira Lane (@keiralanebooks) has offered to share her table at an upcoming convention with other authors. She will be raffling off my signed copy of Dire Consequences,  and providing some much needed exposure for people like me.
We need more behavior like this in our community, a desire to help fellow authors out, and it is a sign that writers don’t need to shun other folks in the trenches.
Well done, Keira, well done. This is what will be present at her table for me:

Amazon advertising

I switched up how I was running ads on Amazon. Originally, I just used the basic max dollar per day model, and it worked…sort of A few sales here and there, and some KNP reads, but not a lot.

Around the end of March, I switched to doing keyword-based ads. The results are much better, but it comes at a steep cost. Instead of spending $20 or $30 for a few weeks of ads, I am finding that I can spend that in a few days now.

Sticker shock slapped me in the face when I got my first invoice, but it’s hard to argue with results. I’m still not selling enough to cover the advertising costs, and yet… See below:

There is a definite upward trend beginning April 1st. I’ve decided to let it run for at least another week, and hopefully it will give me a decent baseline to make comparisons.
